Raven Rocks Gallery presents “Fibers Full and Fine”

March 3 – April 4, 2017

Opening reception March 3, 4-7pm

Throughout human history, individuals have taken every day materials and crafted them in ways that expressed their visions of the world around them. From elegant quartz crystal arrowheads to acrylic landscape paintings, people who came to be called artists have brought their dreams to life with objects commonly used for comfort and protection.

This month’s show will feature new tapestry wall hangings and extemporaneous needlepoints by Windwalker Taibi. The tapestries have been woven using his handspun sheep’s wool yarns in rich hand dyed primary colors and soft natural non-dyed hues. His latest needlework designs incorporate Native American design elements from tribal traditions of the northern plains to the desert southwest, all representing visionary aspects of spiritual, natural environment and everyday life experiences.

Please join Windwalker & Mary Jo, the Schouten & Artworks galleries, Greenbank Wine Shop and Greenbank Cheese Shop for First Friday from 4pm-7pm. Raven Rocks Gallery is located at Greenbank Farm, 765 Wonn Road C-101, Greenbank, WA 98253 on beautiful Whidbey Island, WA.
