About this Event

Have you included your pets in the emergency plan for when the big one hits? Have you considered what pet supplies to store for extended power outages? Don’t try to decide what is best for you and your animals as the disaster is occurring. Join local emergency preparedness and fire safety expert for pets and people Jan Skewes for a discussion on local resources and how to prepare ahead of time for emergencies. This is an introductory course.

Jan Skewes has a degree in Risk Management and Safety, was head of an advisory committee for the Seattle Fire Marshal’s Office, contributed to high rise evacuation and preparedness plans, was an Arson and Fire Inspector, wrote and contributed to the American Kennel Club’s required event disaster plans, and is currently the Pet Liaison for a regional emergency preparedness group.

No registration necessary. Only service animals are allowed in the library. We hope to see you there!
