Welcome to boutique midwifery care! My name is Crystal Ogle and I’m excited to offer families on Whidbey Island holistic, traditional midwifery care. 

Boutique is the word I use to describe the type of midwifery I practice. My practice is small, on purpose, and is designed this way so that I can adapt to clients, offering practical, individualized advice. I serve only 1-2 clients per month and rarely make exceptions. All visits occur in the comfort of the client’s home, as does the birth. 

Traditional midwifery incorporates a holistic approach involving not only the physical health and well being of mom and baby, but their emotional and spiritual health as well. As part of my education, I received both standard and alternative medical training and incorporate both methods into my practice. There are many supportive measures that we can take to nourish body, mind and soul throughout your care. 

Certifications, Licensing and Affiliations include:

• National American Registry of Midwives as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM)
• Licensed Midwife in the state of Washington (LM)
• Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA)
• Washington Alliance for Responsible Midwifery (WARM)

In order to receive the CPM and LM credentials, I completed a total of three full years of formalized study at an accredited school, passed both national and state written examinations of academic knowledge, submitted proof of clinical experience, submitted validation of a wide variety of clinical skills, and agreed to abide by state law and regulations. Before becoming a midwife, I was a certified birth doula and childbirth educator.

I am honored to be able to bring traditional and holistic midwifery to you with my boutique practice. I am excited to spend quality, uncrushed appointments with you in your home and include benefits that I feel are so beneficial to mom, baby and family. My services automatically include things like a welcome gift bag with prenatal vitamins, herbal tea for pregnancy support, great resources and more. I am a strong believer in supporting you throughout your whole journey and include a birth kit, 6 postpartum visits including a visit from a lactation specialist, a postnatal massage by a licensed massage therapist and many (optional) services including cord burning, traditional mother roasting and herbal baths in my services package.
