The Clinton Liquor Store is now owned by Carrie Allen, a Whidbey Island native

Carrie Allen is a young face and a new business owner on Whidbey Island. She was born in Coupeville and is a life-long resident of Whidbey. After having several jobs, including being a barista, working in restaurants, working in Alaska, and working at South Whidbey Schools, she is very happy to have her own business in a community she loves and where she is raising her family.

She purchased the Clinton Liquor Store in April of this year from Lori and Deborah West. The store has been a long running success and Carrie hopes to continue that success and give it her own flair.

She began as an employee of the liquor store in October of 2016. She worked out of her home and was a very involved mom with her son, who is 12, and four daughters who are 10, 6, 4 and 3. This past October she began working shifts at the store.

In the short time since she became the owner, Carrie has created relationships with several distributors, as well as regular customers. She is very responsive to customer requests, and she pays close attention to what sells in the store.

Stepping into the Clinton Liquor store, a shopper will be almost overwhelmed by the amount and variety of the stock that is carried. Carrie has already made several changes to how the store looks and to the products being sold. She says, “The store has my own look now” which includes a “Whiskey Wall.”

Although spirits are the focus of the store, she has a growing wine selection. She currently has products from Mutiny Bay Distillery, Whidbey Island Distillery, and Whidbey Island Winery, and she is looking forward to selling products from other local businesses and responding to requests from her customers.

She admits that being a business owner was stressful at first, but now she says this business adventure has “Been a lot of fun.”

Among the many factors that make Clinton Liquor Store unique, the most notable one is that this is the only full service liquor store on South Whidbey.

If you haven’t visited Clinton Liquor Store recently, Carrie Allen hopes you will come by and see the large selection and see what’s new: 11247 Highway 525 (behind Whidbey Health), Open Monday - Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m; closed Sundays. If you have any questions, or requests, you can give Carrie a call at the store at 360-341-6313.
