ArtisanCrafted.com is more than an online retailer and Artisan Crafted Home in Langley is more than a home store. Walking in your senses are awakened by the scent of the fabulous candles, your eyes are bouncing from one hand-painted chandelier to a hand-stitched lampshade, to copper cookery from France, filling your soul with something that connects your personality, your special uniqueness to find something you don’t see anywhere else, something that will transform your ‘house’ into your home.

The owners, Suzanne Guttman Healy and Jack Healy feel they have created a truly unique business. Suzanne moved to Seattle from Northern California in 1981 after college, and for the next 17 years she expanded her career in graphic design and marketing. She worked for several notable design firms as well as international marketing. Eventually, establishing her own graphic design/branding business in Downtown Seattle for 12 of those years.

In 1995 she met her life and business partner, Jack Healy, who was a national sales manager for a fortune 500 plumbing manufacturer. After they married in 1997 they started designing, building and selling luxury spec homes. Suzanne says, “This was the perfect platform to combine Jack’s knowledge of contracting and for me to further embrace my love for interior design and the freedom to design and create blown glass sinks and lighting.” The experience and partnership lead Suzanne and Jack to developing the ArtisanCrafted business concept and the foundation and evolution of what the company has become today.

Jack and Suzanne came up with the idea of having an online functional art gallery, ArtisanCrafted.com in 2003. In the same year, moved to a 7-acre property in Langley. The business offers handcrafted products by artists who create passionate, customizable and thoughtfully designed sinks, lighting, home décor and furnishings, which have become a valued resource for designers, architects, builders and the discerning homeowner worldwide.

In 2015, the Healy’s expanded their business by complimenting it with a brick and mortar home store to emphasize the online presence. The flagship store would be a reflection of what is offered online, offering home décor, cookware, serveware, special gifts and unique accents which also allows customers to see the exceptional quality of what is offered online.

The opportunity presented itself when a 1930’s historic building became available on First Street in the heart of Langley, the village by the sea on Whidbey Island. In the 8 years since the flagship store opened, they have become a destination store for locals and visitors from around the world.

Suzanne adds: “We have felt honored that we have become a part of the Langley community that has overwhelmingly embraced our brand.”

Suzanne notes “Thirty-five years ago when I started blowing glass, I had no idea the joy my glass would bring to so many.”  Her glass designs range from chandeliers to pendants and sconces, sinks and sculptural installations that have been installed in residences, hotels, restaurants and even yachts worldwide. Suzanne is also one of the 90+ artisans that are part of the ArtisanCrafted community both on the website and in the Artisan Crafted Home store in Langley.

Suzanne says, “It’s a wonderful feeling to turn a house into a home, which is why I take pride in curating each product we offer to our customers, all with the goal of inspiring creativity in their homes and life. What I find most endearing is although we are visited by thousands of tourists a year, our island residents have been our most loyal patrons throughout the eight years since we put out the sustainably-forested, handmade ‘welcome ‘mat  and opened the doors to our flagship store.

Suzanne believes that being an artist is one of the most rewarding occupations, and she enjoys encouraging and enabling other artists to support themselves with their passion by being an ArtisanCrafted artist. She adds: “Your home is an extension of each of us. It’s the place you can be you. Our company believes in dreaming big. We believe in infinite possibilities and we believe when there is beauty, creativity, and art, the world is a happier, kinder place. We love Langley and hope you will visit our store and our website.  Artisan Crafted Home, 211 First Street, Langley, https://www.artisancraftedhome.com/
