Chizue Rudd is following her dream of establishing her own business after several years conducting classes at Island Athletic Club

by Carolyn Tamler 19th February 2024

Chizue Rudd has a strong commitment to helping people become healthier, and helping those with injuries or chronic physical problems to recover. She was born in Japan, but a huge earthquake there in 1993 motivated her to move to the United States. She immigrated in 1995 to Philadelphia, then moved to New Jersey, where she lived for the next few years. She moved to Whidbey Island in 2003.

Chizue is a certified STOTT Pilates, Body Pump and Body Flow instructor, and has years of experience doing a range of classes including Zumba, Salsation, core conditioning, and POP Pilates. Her skill level is apparent watching her lead her classes. After being hired in 2003 by Jay Bryan, who was then the manager of Island Athletic Club (IAC), she began offering a range of classes. She received certification as a Director in 2005.

Chizue says, “I thought a long time about having my own business.” After working at IAC for 20 years, she left and began offering classes at the Pilates Collective in Langley and Freeland. A year and a half ago, she created her own company, “Eternal Wellness,” and began providing a range of group classes as well as private instruction.

It took her a little while to establish her own business because she needed to get a business license and insurance. But all of that was completed and she created Eternal Wellness, which operates out of Soundview Studio at 432 Third Street in Langley.

Chizue has a commitment to the local community and she is focusing on building her reputation and connecting to people in South Whidbey. Her current schedule includes classes in Zumba, Salsation, core conditioning, Pilates, as well as zoom sessions and private lessons. A lot of her new students come from word-of-mouth and from Drewslist.

Chizue is also offering instruction in Yoga Flow, Stretch, Core & Balance Training, Barre, HIIT (high-intensity interval training), TRX (suspension training), and weight training. She is focused on serving her students and the South Whidbey community.

You can contact Chizue for information about private classes. To find out about Eternal Wellness Classes, or individual instruction, visit the website: www.eternalwellness.life or contact at eternalwellnessllc@gmail.com, or call her at (360)-632-9845.
