Marc Juneau has run a web development company for several years, but he has also found a special calling as a massage therapist on Whidbey Island

Marc Juneau’s path to becoming a massage therapist started much earlier than most would guess. In 1997, just out of high school, Marc enrolled in massage school for the first time — and for the first time in his educational journey, he earned an A+. Drawn to anatomy, physiology, and the hands-on nature of healing work, it was clear he had found something that resonated deeply. But life took a different turn. Feeling the pull of the early internet boom, in 1998, Marc left eight months into the 18-month course to pursue a degree in software engineering and internet development.

That decision led him into a successful 12-year run as the owner of a web development company. But in 2016, after more than a decade in tech, Marc felt a familiar call: the desire to reconnect with healing work and step into a new chapter. He returned to massage school — this time fully committed — and graduated from Blue Cliff School of Therapeutic Massage in New Orleans.

Shortly after graduating, Marc relocated to Florida, where he quickly became deeply involved in the massage profession. From 2016 to 2019, he served as Vice President of the Florida Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), representing over 5,000 therapists. In this volunteer leadership role, Marc organized statewide continuing education events, hosted trainings, attended national conferences, and gained access to a wide range of advanced modalities. This period became a second, more expansive education, where he trained in Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), Active Isolated Stretching (AIS), Myofascial Release, Injury Rehabilitation, Sound Healing, Reiki, and more.

After years of professional growth and service, Marc spent time traveling across the United States, eventually making his way to Whidbey Island in late 2022. He originally came to visit his sister — a longtime resident of Langley — and found himself inspired by the island’s pace, beauty, and community spirit. What started as a visit turned into a relocation.

In 2023, Marc accepted a role with the Langley Chamber of Commerce to help redesign and launch VisitLangley.com in May 2024. The project combined two of his skill sets — design and communication — in support of the local business community.

Later that year, he returned his full focus to massage and opened his own practice inside Eli Bentabou’s Chiropractic & Wellness Center in Freeland. Marc now sees clients both at that office (weekday hours) and in his private home studio (evenings and weekends), offering deeply personalized bodywork rooted in clinical skill, energetic presence, and years of multidisciplinary training. You can book an appointment for a massage at: WhidbeyMassageTherapy.com.
