Dr. Alicia Gonzales offers many alternative healing practices

by Carolyn Tamler 1st September 2025

Serene Natural Health was created by Dr. Alicia Gonzales in May 2024 for a simple reason: “I wanted to help people feel better.”

Alicia’s journey to natural healing evolved in the late 1990’s when she was being treated for asthma. She notes that “Natural medicine offers lots of alternatives. Many people don’t know much about homeopathic treatments. I am helping people understand that there are many paths to healing.”

She spent five years at Bastyr and graduated with a Doctorate in Natural Medicine in 2002. She taught at Bastyr for nine years but felt drawn to have her own practice.  She became certified in Homeopathic Medicine in 2014.

In her business, she does pediatrics, works with teenagers, and addresses a multitude of health concerns for adults and seniors.  Her modalities include: homeopathy, craniosacral therapy, herbal medicine, lab testing and counseling.

She is driven by a strong, simple desire: “I want to help people feel well.” She adds, “Every individual is different. I believe it’s important to review options and help people understand how naturopathy can help them feel healthy and calm.” She adds, “I work hard to help my patients understand what they can do to become healthier.”

When a best friend of Alicia’s moved to Whidbey Island in 1984, she started coming for visits. She originally opened her business – Serene Natural Health – in Edmonds, but she felt a strong desire to move to Whidbey: “I love the natural beauty of the island and the calmer lifestyle that is here.”

She finally made the move to the island in 2023 and started her practice in Freeland in May 2024. She notes, “I realized how much I loved Whidbey Island; I loved the feeling of peace. It felt like this was where I really wanted to build my life and my practice.”

She accepts insurance or direct out-of-pocket payments. If you have any health issues you want to address, Alicia Gonzalez will be glad to meet with you and discuss the natural health options that will help you regain your health.

Her office is in downtown Freeland at 1705 Main Street.  She can be reached at info@serenenaturalhealth.net or you can give her a call at 360-755-7828.
