Tannahill Weavers

Scotland’s premier traditional band

Langley, WA: Whidbey Island Center for the Arts (WICA) presents the world-renowned Tannahill Weavers on Thursday, October 26th at 7:30pm.

WICA is beginning our new World Music Series with a bang!  Since 1976, Scotland’s hit group the Tannahill Weavers has been amazing crowds across the globe.  Now they are ready to bring down the house on Whidbey Island!  The band provides a fresh spin on the traditional Scottish repertoire and is known for their unique use of the Great Highland Bagpipe.  The New York Times calls them, “An especially eloquent mixture of the old and the new.”

The Tannahills have that unique combination of traditional melodies, driving rhythmic accompaniment, and rich vocals that make their performances unforgettable. As the Winnipeg Free Press noted, "The Tannahill Weavers - properly harnessed - could probably power an entire city for a year on the strength of [their] concert alone. The music may be old time Celtic, but the drive and enthusiasm are akin to straight ahead rock and roll."

Tickets sell for $25 all seats.  Make sure to book early— this show is sure to be a sell-out!
