January 13th through February 14th, 2018
Open House on Second Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 2PM – 5PM
Tim Potter once again is poised to amaze and delight those who enjoy meticulous and amusing detail, as well as insightful perceptions of life, in the visual arts. Best expressed in his own words, “The villages are inspired by our own village here on Whidbey, and all of the other villages and small towns we have been visiting in our travels. From Main Street towns, to villages by the sea, to small country towns built around a single community, the idea of the images is of those little, charming towns where everything is connected together, and the people live together in a harmonious hamlet. The villages are all based on a single line or thread that everything rests upon, and the details and complexities are situated on that line, with the rest of the world faded and disappearing into nothing. And of course these villages are embellished with whimsey and charm that can only be seen by those who understand the value of small towns, and truly understand why it takes a village….” Nine new original pieces compose this body of work, each having a different theme created in remarkable detail. Treat yourselves to a look into “The Village that Loved Flowers”, “The Village that Stayed Connected”, “The Village that Time did not Forget” and more. Created with pen & ink and mixed media, each of the nine works is heart warming and appealing to the child in all of us, regardless of age.
