Ugandan Music and Dance Troupe

Langley, WA: Whidbey Island Center for the Arts (WICA) presents Dance of Hope with Kinobe Herbert on March 9 at 7:30pm at South Whidbey High School.

WICA is proud to welcome Ugandan youth dance and music troupe Dance of Hope to Whidbey Island.  Assembled by Kinobe Herbert and Bosco Segaway to explore the transforming power of music and dance, Dance of Hope travels the globe to raise awareness and improve the way of life for children in need.  Their vibrant music and dance spectacular brings Africa’s newest cast of performers aged 12-19 to help connect children from different countries.  Dance of Hope will be in residency at the SWHS from March 5-10 and will present a public performance on Friday night, March 9, 7:30pm at the SWHS auditorium.

"Not only are they tremendously talented and entertaining, but their way of being and loving—in spite of having very little of material well-being—is moving and inspiring, and offers a significant learning experience for all of us." –Charles Terry

Attendance is free.  Donations to help support the school residency gladly accepted!

Whidbey Island Center for the Arts is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving the community of South Whidbey Island and beyond. WICA’s mission is to inspire, nourish, and enhance the artistic, social, and economic well-being of the community.
