Description
Our History Wildwood Farm Established in 1965, Wildwood Farm was involved in the business/sport of owning, breeding and/or racing thoroughbred horses. It quickly became one of Washington's largest thoroughbred farms and established itself as one of the premier thoroughbred services/racing businesses in the state. Owned and Operated by Bill and Barbara Black, Wildwood housed some of the well known stallions and race horses to race at Long Acres track in Seattle, Wa. Some of the many studs that stood at Wildwood Farm, 'Gallant Best', 'Crocation', 'Emperor's Key', 'Handsome One', Super Pleasure', 'Capt. Don' and who could forget 'Pirateer' all big stakes winners, all creating the history of Wildwood Farm. Long Acres track was closed in 1992 after sixty seasons of racing. Emerald Downs, the Northwest's new track would not open until June, 1996. Wildwood as well as many other thoroughbred farms were sold off and the racing industry came to a halt for the long three years.
