The Tattooed Heart: A Musical Conversation on the Mysteries of the Heart

by David Gregor 14th March 2022

Friday April 8 and Saturday April 9, 2022, the Deja Blooze band with guest vocalist Codie
Carman will present a new music production called “The Tattooed Heart: A Musical
Conversation on the Mysteries of the Heart.”

In the tradition of the band’s two previous original productions, “Chronicling the Blues” and “Journaling the Blues”, “The Tattooed Heart” musically traces the many facets of love. This production is three years in the making and was inspired by David Gregor’s 2019 Memoir “The Rose Tattoo.” “The Tattooed Heart” will be performed at the intimate Black Box Theater on the fairgrounds in Langley.

“The Tattooed Heart,” written and conceived by Langley resident David Gregor, is a series of
musical vignettes addressing various aspects of the heart. The spoken-word interludes address
the subject matter of the songs from a universal perspective. Together the music, visuals, and
spoken words speak to the many shades of love.

“The Tattooed Heart” features thirteen new original songs written by David Gregor specifically
for this program.

Performers include:
David Gregor, guitar and vocals
Codie Carman, vocals
David Licastro, guitar
Gary Way, keyboards
Ron Rossel, bass
David Malony, drums
