Hummingbird Studio in Langley is a home for the Healing Arts

by Carolyn Tamler 12th May 2026

Hummingbird Studio is a home for the healing arts located in the South Whidbey Community Center (SWCC) in Langley. It is a renovated classroom that allows for one-to-one or group therapy, workshops, and even small concerts. It is a collective of arts-based practitioners: Barbara Dunn, PhD, LICSW, MT-BC (barbaradunn.com), Eric Mullholland, MA, LMHCA, EXAT, LMP (https://www.erixpressivearts.com/), Marta Mullholland, MA, RSME (martamulholland.com), and Ruth Yeo Peterman, MA, LMHC (https://ruthyeopeterman.com/). Check out the linked websites for more info. NOTE: They are looking for one more person to round out their collective.

Barbara Dunn is a local music treasure on Whidbey Island. Besides having a reputation as a music therapist and social worker, she performs and uses her music as a way to contribute to community and encourage people to create bridges of communication with each other. She had the original vision for Hummingbird Studio and was joined by Eric Mulholland in 2021 to bring it to fruition. They worked hard to transform a middle school classroom into a warm and inviting space filled with light and an invitation to explore and Dr.Barbara Dunn’s website provides a full description of her professional skills and future performances: http://www.barbaradunn.com/
