Llynya’s in Freeland is a magical space to explore

by Carolyn Tamler 17th August 2026

Llynya Carey opened her store in Freeland in 1999, and since that time many have visited Llynya’s and discovered a wide variety of candles, jewelry, hand-made journals, and other items that she says “nourish the spirit.” She adds, “the items in my store invite people to connect with nature.”

She personally selects all of the items that are offered for sale at the store.  She works with small businesses from around the United States, many of which are women-owned businesses.  She comments: “I look for things that bring joy and delight.”

Before creating her retail business, Llynya earned a degree in Cultural Anthropology and was a social worker for many years.  Over the years, she became more interested in having her own business with thoughtfully selected items that reflect her values.

It is rewarding for her to watch people coming into her store who appreciate what they see. The store contains many small, unique gifts. She comments: “People feel good just coming into the store and looking at what is here.”

She also enjoys engaging with visitors and helping them find something that brings them joy. She adds: “I love working with people who come from diverse paths.”

The store also includes a “Healing Room” that she and others use for guided meditation sessions or to simply have a sacred space where they can relax. She offers a guided meditation session for $125. If you are interested in learning more about your spiritual perspective and lineages and awakening your soul’s essence, Llynya is available to encourage your intuitive wisdom with the use of a singing bowl and musical selections designed to gently relax and nourish the spirit.

Llynya encourages visitors to her store to share their experiences with their friends. Over the years, her business has grown largely through word-of-mouth. She adds: “You are welcome to contact me for questions regarding wellness services or for finding that special gift for yourself or a loved one.”

Llynya’s is located at 1679 Main Street, Suite C, in Freeland.  The store is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5:00 p.m.  Special arrangements can be made for visits at other times.  Give Llynya a call at 360-331-3696 or email her at llynya@whidbey.com.
