About this Event

The current state of deathcare in the West is rooted in a history that be traced back about 150 years. This presentation illuminates what deathcare was like before that, what changes brought us to where we are now, and what shifts we can consider to expand community deathcare and death literacy moving forward.

Venessa Greenheron is a death midwife working at the intersection of art, ceremony, and death. Her work is dedicated to helping others bring ritual, joy, and beauty into our end-of-life experiences, and increasing death literacy at a community level in order to better care for each other.

This event is part of the End of Life program series.
