Learn about oyster life cycles, ecological benefits of oysters, the native Olympia oyster, and how to find fresh, safe-to-eat oysters from Emily Wilder, owner of Salinity Seafood & More located on Whidbey Island. Emily will demonstrate shucking techniques using empty shells and provide handouts with tips on private beach shellfish gardening, shell recycling, and supporting the new Whidbey Oyster Network.
